Many thanks to Richmond Punch for giving the kids at I Have a Dream Dallas their
own personal symphonic experience. They engaged in fascinating games with
classical flavor spiced with a little hip-hop. Richmond entertained the kids
with musical exercises like "Name that Tune" from commercials and sing-alongs to
popular musical numbers. He impressed us with compositions like Hoe Down from
Rodeo by Aaron Copland. This tune was widely used by the Beef Council in the
"Beef, it's what's for dinner" commercials. He also serenaded us with tunes from
Zales, a Disney theme song "When you wish upon a star," and the Oscar Mayer
Wiener song. A truly invaluable experience to all who had the rare privilege of
participating.

They also treated the Dreamers and Volunteers to a delicious meal at Spaghetti

"Kaboom" playground construction kick-off at the cedar springs multi-purpose
center, sponsored by the Dallas housing authority; dreamers and other
residential youth participated in a ground-breaking premise, to have the youth
who live in the community create and draw ideas of how they'd like "their"
playground to be constructed. The event spawned local media attention and Dallas
housing authority execs, who interviewed and lent hands on support to the
neighborhood effort.
